My family ahd known about my mother's depression for months before they told me or my sisters about it.
My mother tried to commit suicide and ended up spending two weeks in the hospital. When she finally came home she decided to tell me what ha d happened. I didn't even know that she had tried to kill herself.
My sisters, who were only 10 and 9 at the time found out a few months later.
My mother tried her best to assure me that it wasn't my fault, but I still feel that it is even today. My father also tried to amke me feel better, but I think he was having trouble dealing with it too.
